How to do it

Balance on the outside leg. Before hopping sideways over the mini hurdle, do one quick preparatory hop, using the stretch reflex and stored elastic energy to make the following push-off more efficient. Keep your body facing forward throughout and push actively off the outside leg to hop laterally in succession. Compared with the inside-leg version, this force pattern is closer to the lateral shuffle used in sport, and it effectively improves push-off efficiency when moving sideways, continuous propulsion and the ability to adjust body position quickly. The focus is reactive strength, ankle stiffness, single-leg power and lateral acceleration, while also strengthening stance-leg stability and force transfer efficiency.
